A Vintage Woman in a Modern World

When I received this skirt I just wanted so bad to style it in a way that wasn’t formal. Luckily the pieces just sort of came together in my head and the next thing I knew I had created a look I was proud of. Sure I create a lot of styles I think are good, but few do I step back and marvel at. This was such a bizarre mix of items that, when  jumbled together, worked in such a delightful way.

The orange beret is from Amazon, a rare midnight ” I can’t sleep” find- and yes it comes with the netting.  The sweater is from Zara. It’s not plus, but I find their XXL to be fairly true to size. The distressed metallic skirt (on super sale right now!) from Macy’s I am I wearing accents the sequins in the sweater, and really makes them pop. To bring out even more color in the jumper I added a yellow neck scarf from Modcloth and a bright red lip from bite beauty.  For my final accessories I added one of my favorite bags from Min & Mon and the most amazing  wide fit booties (seriously the insole padding is amazing) from RWN by Rawan.

My New Obsession: Sparkly Metallic Flats

My New Obsession: Sparkly Metallic Flats

So right now I am going through a glitter phase. If it’s metallic or blinged, I am buying it. Seriously I look like the rhinestone section of JoAnn Fabrics threw up on me. And by threw up on me, I mean left me with the perfect glow of bedazzled glory. I’m pretty sure a trail of sparkles follows me wherever I go. I am obsessed. This obsession has led me to develop ninja class skills at exploring the depths of the internet and unearthing the best and perhaps weirdest uses of excessive flash out there. This week I have been especially over the moon for shoes with a bold sheen of shimmer. Why should my clothes have all the fun? A girl needs a good pair of boogie flats (or in my case…several).

These are just a few of my favorites. I’ve already bought the first two pairs of flats as you can tell from my sexy oh-no-she-didn’t-bring-that-level-of-sassiness foot modeling. Right now, as we speak, I am resisting the urge to buy those unicorn sneaks. I mean I kind of need them, right? They are unicorns. I mean every girl needs at least one pair of shoes with mythical animals on them. Yes? Yes. I’m glad we agree on this.
