There’s some pretty crazy things I’ve done for the sake of blogging. I think walking down an active city street for “authentic” New York photos has to be one of them. Red light. Go! Go! Go! Green light . Quick get out of the road before you a become very large piece of gingham and denim road kill!! Yes, pose with that taxi while the driver of said taxi says creepy things to you. This is the big city and I was playing a weird form of sexy frogger. Personally , I think I set an all new high score. In my opinion, nothing in more important to city living, than a really amazing pair of jeans. These light wash jeans from Good American are still one of favorites. This is 100% because they make my butt look magical. If you’re late to my fall party, you might have missed the memo that I’m really into big sleeves or, as my boss called them today, “mutton leg arms.” While I at first thought my boss was weirdly trying to be cool, google tells me this is actually what big ass sleeves are called. It’s a thing. I prefer the french term, gigot. It sounds exotic as opposed to meaty. That said, I am really leaving lots of amazing jokes on the table that my inner 14 year old could make about being an expensive piece of meat. That’s probably ok, because feminism. I got my mutton leg shirt from Fashion to Figure. Gingham has the potential to come off a bit too country for my taste, but these sexy balloon like sleeves elevate this piece to cocktails and class versus the usual tractors and grass. To complete the look I added a vintage scarf from Hugo Boss in an autumn floral print and my favorite pair of city walking flats from Target.

It’s Friday so here’s a bunch of photos of me and my dog with wind blown hair and nautical vibes. Shout to Data for putting up with my constant shenanigans. The striped dress is from Old Navy, superbly comfortable espadrille shoes are from Target, and the necklace is a vintage find from Good Will.

Today I learned that I am going back to India… tomorrow or Monday. I guess that’s why I wore this billowy wind strewn shirt, because I bought it off of Indian Amazon prime last time I was there. Instead of pimping all over the world- I’m PRIMING all over the world. Is that a dad joke? It just might be. My life as of recent has been intense. Oddly I love it. I think its because I’m an uncanny diva of a duck that thrives in chaos. As a problem solver, lots of things to fix is weirdly comforting. I love a good challenge. I also love a good cupcake… and a good shirtless man… and a good glass of wine.Speaking of challenges… it’s 5 pm and I’m exhausted. It feels like I’ve done everything and nothing all at the same time. I took a 2 hour work call this morning, cleaned my closet, made lunch, took Data for a long walk and bought 85 million pounds of candy for my Desi coworkers at Target. On the other hand, I am not packed, my apartment is a mess, I still haven’t received my visa, and I have about 1,375 videos I should be filming for the YouTube. And yet I find myself typing away at the computer. Why? Because I like what I’m wearing. Funny how that works. In a to do list a mile long, my oasis is sharing this pretty flowy shirt to the world. Simple pleasures indeed.(Jeans old Girlfriend cut from Torrid. Flats and shades from my Target trip today).

I wanted this look to feel like I had just danced the night away and my super attractive living candy of a man had given me his coat to keep me warm. Of course we had coordinated before leaving the hours for festive fun. The matching shoes weren’t coincidental, they were a sign of our deep and passionate relationship and our fascination with the Asian trend of couple dressing.

But, um, I’m single. So I guess this is almost a fantasy look. I didn’t borrow this jacket. I had to buy it. At least I can now casually bring it with me to restaurants when I eat alone, throw it over the opposing chair, and constantly refer to my lover in the restroom. “He must have gotten food poisoning.” “Free dessert?” “Make it two and I think we can forget this ever happened…” Boom. Just call this my sweet blazer, because it raining free creme brulee up in this house.

It’s Friday and I’m not feeling that inspired. I don’t have any wise words of wisdom to share or any funny anecdotes to tell. Basically, I’m a bit boring, but luckily I have a cute outfit to wear and a vacation to plan, so that’s something, right?
See I usually forget to plan vacations. I like working. That maybe weird for some of you to understand, but I’m one of those rare souls that actually loves their job. So the end of year has rolled around, I haven’t used my vacation and I’m scrambling to plan something last minute. I am certain there are worse problems to have. So today I as I scramble to find a budget holiday trip (pray for a miracle folks) , I am remaining festive in my holiday decorations inspired look.
